Rapid transit via Tardis to the here and now.
Let us jump from my origins to the present with the least fuss by taking a type 4 Tardis (acronym for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space).
This is my entry to the Good Vibrations Sponsored indie erotic film festival in San Francisco. I think it fits the criteria. this is a rough draft but the basic idea of what the final entry will be like.
note-the latest is the take like 43 version.
The cultural significance of this film is how it brings back nearly forgotten works of art and sets them in the present while retaining the original context. The song is the chorus of an 1890s work “Hello My Ragtime Girl” in which the composer is asking a lady in a distant city to send him ‘a kiss by wire’. Given the timeframe and after asking around, the most likely explanation is this was meant to be a singing telegram delivered to the lady (asking for her reply to be sent by telegraph – the only widespread long distance telecommunications available in the 1890s).
The song was known to me by the 1955 WB cartoon ‘another froggy evening’.
This work uses the original context of the song and references the cartoon.
The making of this video has given me a total love for Ragtime music.
